Our education and skills specialists work with employers to make sure they get the best out of the government’s new apprenticeship levy. The levy is compulsory for large employers and it funds new apprenticeships.

Every employer with an annual wage bill of £3m or more is now required, by law, to commit 0.5% of that wage bill to fund apprenticeships. The levy is paid directly to HMRC through the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system.

An employer’s wage bill is the total amount of your employees’ earnings that are subject to Class 1 National Insurance contributions: wages; bonuses; commissions and pension contributions.
