Partnering to meet social and policy objectives Ingeus in Australia and New Zealand

Australia and New Zealand

Founded in Australia in 1989, our 22 years’ experience in providing injury management and rehabilitation, employment services, training, and recruitment, informed the best practice service delivery model which sparked and sustained the company’s international expansion.

Ingeus in Australia currently provides business psychology services through Assure Programs, an organisation we acquired in October 2011. As Assure Programs, we specialise in organisational development services and employee assistance programs which are delivered by our teams of registered psychologists and partner network throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Our unique combination of organisational and employee assistance services enables us to tailor approaches to maximise employee wellbeing and business performance. Our organisational development services include leadership and team development, executive coaching, organisational reviews, conflict management, change management and psychological assessment. Complementary to these services are the confidential counselling, support programs and online resources delivered to more than 180 organisations and 200,000 individuals and their families through our employee assistance programs.

Australian operations (1989 – 2007)

One hundred percent of employment services in Australia are outsourced to the private and voluntary sectors. Until the sale of our Australian operations in 2007, we were one of the country’s largest providers of employment services under the government’s Job Network contract (now known as Job Services Australia) with 44 offices across the country providing support to around 55,000 people per year.

We were also a highly respected provider of the Personal Support Programme – a specialist programme which provided a pathway between crisis services and employment assistance for people deemed the hardest to help including people with drug/alcohol dependency, homelessness, generational unemployment, psychological conditions or mental illness, domestic violence issues, financial management difficulties, social isolation, and physical and intellectual disabilities. We worked with them to build their strengths and capabilities and to move into work programmes, study or vocational training; to increase their engagement with the community; to move into stable accommodation; and to improve their life skills.

Our business was founded in 1989 on assisting injured workers or people with health conditions to return to work and we worked closely with the government, employers and insurers to provide rehabilitation, injury management and corporate health programmes. We assisted clients to develop strategies to reduce absenteeism, reduce downtime caused by injury and illness, minimise exposure to compensation claims and other legal claims, reduce workers compensation claims and premiums, assist employees to maintain optimal health and wellbeing and make it easier to get injured workers back to work. We also operated a registered training organisation, Invisage, which developed and delivered corporate training, public courses, traineeships, coaching and mentoring, and personal development training; and a recruitment company, Clements.

The Ingeus group’s global headquarters are in Brisbane, Australia.
