Ingeus re-enters Australian market

Thérèse Rein, Managing Director of Ingeus Limited, today announced the company had signed a contract for the acquisition of organisational development and employee assistance provider, Assure Programs.

Founded in Queensland, Assure Programs is a wholly owned Australian organisation which delivers business psychology services throughout Australia and New Zealand.

“Ingeus is committed to people flourishing,” Ms Rein said.

“This acquisition enables us to extend that vision back into Australia through the provision of services which improve people’s wellbeing and assist them to cope with the changing environment in which we live and work.

“Assure is a highly reputable organisation with a great team of qualified experienced psychologists providing the best possible counselling and organisational development services to Australian and New Zealand businesses. Their commitment to excellence with integrity completely aligns with Ingeus’ core values.

“It is an exciting next step for us and, we believe, a natural progression on the work we currently do in eight countries overseas in assisting people into work – to enable them to thrive at work and in their personal lives.”

Ingeus has ruled out for now re-entering the employment services market in Australia, having divested its Australian employment services operations in 2007, to avoid any perceived conflict of interest when Ms Rein’s husband was elected the leader of the then federal opposition party. At that time, the company signed non-compete clauses as part of the sale agreements which it has, and will continue to, honour.

Under the acquisition agreement, Ingeus is delighted to be able to continue to work with all current Assure staff, and to serve all current Assure organisational and individual clients. Assure Founder and Managing Director, Murray Davis will continue to play a key role in the business.

Mr Davis said he was delighted to be in a position to pass on his company to one with the culture, reputation and performance record of Ingeus.

“Assure is a strong business, with a history of steady growth, grounded in our philosophy of ‘people matter’,” he said.

“Ingeus’ values and vision for the future of the company are firmly aligned to Assure’s with the added systems, capability and strength of a highly respected, successful international company which can drive future growth and provide exceptional opportunities for our staff.

“Assure has an excellent reputation for providing personalised responses for individuals and value-added services for businesses.

“These services will continue to be provided by the same people, from the same locations and under the same terms and conditions.” Mr Davis said.

The sale is expected to complete on 1 October 2011.
