In June 2006, Ingeus GmbH formed a partnership with the ARGE (Arbeitsgemeinschaft), the City of Nuremberg’s joint body of the regional administration and public employment service, to assist people who have been unemployed for at least one year.
Ingeus supported 2,000 unemployed people over a two-year period, and worked closely with each of them for up to 10 months. After placing people into a job, each person received another six months intensive in-work support.
Ingeus GmbH successfully exceeded the contractual target of 40% job placements by the end of the two year contract.
Similar to the contract with the regional council in Paris (Hauts-de-Seine), payments are made when people reach three months and six months in a job.
In addition to the ARGE partnership pilot programme, Ingeus GmbH won a contract with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, BA (Federal Employment Office) in May 2007. Over a period of almost three years, Ingeus will work with 1,400 short-term unemployed people who have been without work for no longer than four weeks. Jobseekers join the programme for between six and eleven months. The programme started in July 2007 and is a BA model testing innovative approaches of reintegrating unemployed people in cooperation with a private provider. The project takes place in six different German cities. Providers could only tender for one city at a time and Ingeus GmbH tendered for and won in Nuremberg.
In October 2007, Ingeus GmbH opened an office in Munich launching a pilot project in cooperation with the ARGE Munich, the City of Munich’s joint body of the regional administration and public employment service. Over a period of two years, Ingeus supported 4,000 long-term unemployed people following the Nuremberg model.
In September 2008, Ingeus was awarded a tender to assist long-term unemployed people in Berlin Treptow-Köpenick. The challenges faced by jobseekers in Berlin include an unemployment rate that is significantly higher than the national average, a large percentage of jobs are short-term, and low labour market growth. From November 2008, Ingeus commenced delivering a programme which will assist up to 2,000 clients over a two-year period.
Most recently, in October 2008, Ingeus commenced another programme in partnership with the Nuremberg ARGE to assist up to 1,000 parents into employment over a two year period. On-site child care is provided for parents while they access our services, and specialist single parent advisors support them to source local childcare while they are attending interviews and once they are in work.
